My name is Mylee Merrill and I am 14 years old and in 9th grade. My birthday is June 10, 2005, and I’m itching to drive. I go to Centennial Jr. High School and I live in Kaysville. I used to live in Southern California and I moved here when I was 9. I miss California but I wouldn’t want to move back there because I have so many good friends here. I absolutely love to play soccer and tennis and do pretty much anything outdoors. I love to hang out with my bff 23gpetersen2 so go check out her blog;-).

This a summer that I will never forget. I went into the mountains and camped out with a bunch of other kids around my age at this thing called quest. It was so much fun and I will never forget how much flour was in my hair from an activity that we did. I also went to bear lake with my young women’s group and had so much fun. We went boating, 4 wheeling and hiking. The experience that I had there I will never forget.

My family vacation this year was to California. We stayed in a beach house in Newport with our family friends. It was so fun to see all of my old friends. We went to the beach every single day, and that is probably the thing that I miss the most. I miss the ocean and the sand in my hair. Also I miss the tan I got cause its already fading!

I have 3 siblings. I’ve got 2 brothers, and 1 sister. I have a dog named Rocco. He’s super cute, playful, and he loves everyone who walks through the door. My brothers names are Tate and Porter they are twins and they are 17 years old. I have a little sister and her name is Maggie. She is 12 years old and she is a 7th grader this year here at Centennial. I love my family so much and I’m so thankful I have them.

• Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
• If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
